Postdoc Appreciation Week Germany will once again take place from September 16 to 20. JUNO will also be represented with several events.

Until 15 October 2024, all interested HHU professors, postdocs can submit an application for central funds for the organisation and implementation of an HHU Summer School.

Together with a postdoc working group, a series of measures have been developed in recent weeks to support the implementation of the postdoc guidelines in the future.

Since 2014, we have been generating and sharing synergies in graduate education - iGRAD, philGRAD, medRSD and JUNO work together within the Heine Research Academies. In 10 years of working together, we have achieved a great deal for our doctoral students, postdocs, group leaders and international guest researchers.

In order to focus more strongly on the importance of career development for postdocs and at the same time take a closer look at their role and self-image, the idea was born to develop supporting guidelines for postdocs. The guideline discussion took place virtually using the platform of the Düsseldorf Institute for Internet and Democracy (DIID) .

Currently all comments and recommendations are consolidated. The public introduction of the postdoc guidelines is planned for the meeting of the HHU…

For each successfully acquired third-party-funded project of at least 100,000 €, young scientists at HHU receive a bonus of 5,000 € as a freely available budget. The programme is an incentive for the acquisition of third-party funding by young scientists. It is financed by the Strategic Research Fund (SFF) and applies to HHU's non-medical faculties.

Our partner TwentyOneSkills offers a wide range of online courses specifically for all working in science and research.

The fund serves to relieve the burden on female scientists at HHU who, in addition to research and teaching, also have child care responsibilities.

The successful participation in the regional Rheinland lab on 12.09.19 at the University of Cologne is the ticket to the final in Berlin.

The Schering Stiftung and the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung offer start-up grants to fund promising research ideas by young scientists. Support is provided for projects in the fields of biochemical, neuroscience or immunological basic research with biomedical implications. The program is explicitly aimed at highly motivated young investigators who wish to pursue an independent career and conduct their own research which is different from that of their supervisors.
