Early career researchers of all HHU faculties were asked to show the world what (their) research looks like in the 21st century. 25 images have been submitted and now it’s your turn to vote for the 12 most favorite images that will be displayed in the “pARTofResearch” calendar of Heine Research Academies for 2018.

31.05.17 3.7.2017 Scholarly peer review - learning from emeritus professors

Learning from experienced colleagues can facilitate the own career a lot. JUNO has invited two renowned HHU emeritus professors, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dieter Birnbacher and Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Spatschek, for a face-to-face chat on their experience with scholarly peer review (refereeing). Both bring a decade-long experience as journal referees, editors, review board members and experts in their field. You are invited to ask questions and talk to them in person.

09.05.17 Jun. Prof. Dr. Ute Scholl receives most important German price for early career researchers

On Wednesday 3rd May 2017 Jun. Prof. Dr. Ute Scholl, Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital Düsseldorf, has been awarded the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Price by the German Research Foundation (DFG). She is one out ouf ten young scientists, who received the award from the Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, The Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Price is endowed with each 20.000 euros, and is regarded the most significant award for early career researchers in Germany.


15.03.17 Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg awards its Alfried Krupp Fellowships for the academic year 2018/19

Through the Fellowship program, scholars are given the opportunity to focus on a major research project. Fellows will be invited either for one semester or for a full academic year. Office space and accommodation will be offered to the fellows free of charge. Proposals from groups of scholars who plan to pursue an international and interdisciplinary collaborative project are welcome, too.

Driven by the enthusiastic feedback for last years’ competition, the Heine Research Academies announce the next „pART of Research“ calendar competition at HHU this year. The calendar should illustrate what research looks like in the 21st century and show the diversity of research projects on campus.

26.01.17 Marie Curie Fellows Association Career Workshop 18.02.2017

The Marie Curie Fellows Association (MCFA) invites all interested HHU postdocs to take part in their career workshop. The event takes place on 18.2.2017 at the "Haus der Universität" in Düsseldorf and is part of the biannual general assembly of the MCFA. There will be the chance to talk to (former) MC fellows and network.

Early career researchers of all HHU faculties were asked to show the world what (their) research looks like in the 21st century - no matter what, whether microscopic, endoscopic, philosophic, whether real, surreal or unreal. From November 2, 2016 the calendar is available for free as long as stocks last at Heine Research Academies (in the offices of iGRAD, medRSD, philGRAD and HeRA).

You are pursuing an academic career and want to advance your skills to meet the challenges of your everyday research environment? You want to further develop your role as a (prospective) research group leader, acquire progressive leadership and management skills and benefit from direct exchange with your peers?

Then take part in the "Academic Career Development Programme” of Heine Research Academies starting in March 2017.

14.11.16 Apply now for HeRA travel grants!

Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers can apply until the 30th of June for travel grants for international conferences in March, April and May 2017. Further information on application and funding requirements can be on our website.
